She is also available to provide advice on veterinary care of legally-owned reptiles and amphibians, including lizards, tortoises, bearded-dragons, snakes, chameleons, and pet toads.

Dr Mari de Villiers
BSc (Hons), BVSc (Hons)
Dr Mari is a veterinarian with several years of experience in the care and treatment of birds and exotic pets. She has worked at several practices over the years, including the Bird and Exotic Animal Hospital at Onderstepoort in South Africa. Her main focus of practice is companion birds and small mammals, but she is equally efficient in dealing with a variety of reptiles and amphibians.
In addition to her work in private practice, Dr Mari has lectured as a clinician at the Veterinary Faculty at the University of Namibia and has been involved with several research projects on avian viral diseases in the country. Through her clinical work and research, she has established herself as a well-known general veterinarian in Namibia with a special interest in birds and exotic species.

In her downtime, Dr Mari is fond of sketching and painting, practising her bonsai craft, and delights in being outdoors. She enjoys spending weekends with her husband, who is also a veterinarian, and places an important emphasis on maintaining a healthy work-life balance. Her passion and love for the tiny creatures of the veterinary world fuels the high quality of care that she provides to her patients and clients.
